Plies Announces Power of Vision Non-Profit Organization

Big Gates/Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic recording artist Plies has announced details of his very own non-profit organization, Big Gates and Plies Power Of Visions Foundation, Inc., as well as a scholarship program, the "Somebody Loves You" Scholarship Fund. Keeping in the tradition of Plies’ philanthropy, Big Gates and Plies Power Of Visions will provide funding for legal representation and aid to needy individuals, specifically those who are incarcerated, with the goal of promoting a more functional, productive, and just community. The organization will also provide educational forums, classes, workshops, trainings, opportunities, and other charitable activities aimed at individuals in the community, in particular focusing on rehabilitation.


In addition, Big Gates and Plies Power Of Visions will focus on promoting activities for youth and minorities, including education, mentorship, cultural experiences, and preventative measures aimed at combating incarceration in the Tampa and Ft. Myers, Florida areas.


The organization’s first effort will be the "Somebody Loves You" Scholarship Fund 2008 (named after the song "Somebody (Loves You) "from his current album), which is designed specifically for students attending an accredited college or university, who have a parent(s) that is presently incarcerated and who is financially disadvantaged. The scholarship is open to students who are currently enrolled or who will be entering school this fall. Two scholarships will be awarded to one male and one female in the amount of $5000 each.

First Comes The Fame- Then Comes The Lawsuits!!!!

Via Drew Reports: Three producers initiated legal action in a California courtroom yesterday (June 25), accusing T-Pain, SRC Records boss Steve Rifkind and others of copyright infringement. At issue is T Pain’s hit single "I’m N Luv With A Stripper," which a group songwriters claim is stolen material.

According to a complaint filed Monday (Jun 23) with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Rodney King (no relation), Jeff Byrd and James Reese are demanding a trial by jury and seeking an award for damages including any gains, profits and advantages obtained as a result of the alleged infringement.

In 1997, the three plaintiffs, who collectively have worked with the likes of Lionel Richie, Teena Marie, and 90’s group All For One, created a song titled "Makin’ Luv 2 A Player."

The lawsuit suggests that T-Pain, born Faheem Najm, then received a copy of their song, from which he drew more than inspiration for his 2005 hit featuring Mike Jones.

"The musical hook is nearly identical," attorney Gregory Bodell told sources. "It’s a little slower in my clients’ song, but it was of course recorded 8 years earlier. When I listened to it, I said, ‘That’s the same hook.’

"Given how similar the hook is musically, and the lyrics aren’t that different, from ‘Makin’ love to a playa’ to "I’m in Luv Wit a Stripper,’ it’s hard to believe that Rifkind, who had my clients’ original song, didn’t give the song to T-Pain," Bodell claimed. "It is especially likely that this happened since originally, back in ’98 when he met with Mr. King, he and his A&R staff were trying to determine which of his artists would best perform the song. It seems they found T-Pain in 2005."

The plaintiffs have requested that the court determine an amount of punitive and exemplary damages that is "sufficient to punish [the defendants] and to deter similar conduct in the future," according to the lawsuit.

So it took these folks 3 years to realize that T-Pain stole the song from them?!?!?! Or is it maybe that it took T-Pain 3 years to become one of the hottest, most requested artists in the game and these folks realized they now can actually get some money from him?!?!?! And if they wrote the song in 1997 and it took until 2005 for it to become a hit then they should be THANKING T-Pain for a job well done!!!

Russell Tells His Side

Despite rampant rumors regarding the divorce between Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons, things are actually reported to be "just fine" between the 2 ex's. The way he explains everything, it makes perfect sense- to me. Some old school rappers/ music execs do not roll with a large entourage and/or a big security team and Russell is one of these people. Kimora, however, rolls with security and a nanny for the children. Me, being a mother myself, I definitely understand Kimora wanting to protect her children. People in this world are SICK!!!! And, if yall have ever watched "Life in the Fab Lane", that little Aoki requires so much attention that someone could snatch lil Ming Lee in the blink of an eye. Aoki made ME tired just watching her on the show!!!!


The only thing I do not understand is the child support agreement. I believe that both parents are well off enough that they should be able to provide for the girls without an arangement being needed. But I also look at Kimora and Russell's lives. Their entire relationship has always been more of a business arrangement so having a child-support "contract", so to speak, seems perfectly logical. ANyway, make sure you read it for yourself. Things are always so much better when they come straight from the horses mouth!!!

But now West, who inherited $250,000 of assets from his mother, has also been handed a court order asking him to pay off her debts - which have been incurred by delayed payments on the late 58-year-old’s Illinois condo.West will have to settle the unpaid fees as well as interest payments, which have been mounting since his mother’s sudden death.

So yesterday on The Urban Blogger, I reported that American Idol Winner Ruben Studdard obtained amarriage license and was marrying 30 year old Surata Zuri McCants. BET Awards- TRIED AND FAILED!!!!

Keyshia Cole's Family Reunion went down in LA last night!!!!!!!! HOLLA!!!!!!! Just kidding yall but, in the word of Fresh, THE EBT AWARDS were in full effect at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles last night. The awards started off AWFUL by the Usher performance. If this wasn't a clear indication that he needs to retire then I don't know what other sign he needs. It was like watching Bobby Brown, who clearly still thinks he got it. I just kept SMH the entire time. Then, I knew the awards were going to be a complete disaster when DL Hughley came out with his first lame @ss joke, and the wackness continued throughout the night. He misread the teleprompter A MILLI times and did the ultimate F*CK UP when he called Marvin Sapp WARREN SAPP!!!! Imma need for DL to not ever, eva eva eva host the BET Awards again- EVER!!!!!

The GOOD

Ne-yo showed up and showed out but he was a bit too Michael Jackson-ish to me!!! I told my friend "IF this nigga moonwalks, I'm going to fall the f*ck out!!!!" I will say he gave Usher a run for his money and Ne-Yo isn't even a dancer!!!! The chick in the photo with him was also his date (I guess because they were all hugged up in the audience). Al Green pretty much was the best performance of the night to me. Marvin Sapp did his thing too but I was hoping he did a little bit more than the "traditional" gospel performance. That song along was enough to make the show.

Lil Wayne shut it down (of course) and T-Pain's performance would've been HOT if he would've brought Plies out!!!!! Is it just me or does DJ Khaled need some ADD medicine?!?!?! He reminds me of my son after a bit too much candy!!!!!! And, lets take this moment to recognize Rick Ross coming out with his jacket open!!!!! WHEW WHEW WHEW!!!!!! A bish almost passed out!!!!!! Next time I need advance warning because my heart can't take too much more of that big ol chocolate M&M!!!!!!

Ciara shut down Chris Brown's boring ass performance.

Carmelo Gets Slap On the Wrist Probation & Community Service

From Drew Reports: Carmelo Anthony just took a charge for the team — well, himself — and escaped a heavy DUI charge today in court.

The Nuggets All-Star was sentenced to probation and community service for a charge of driving while ability-impaired. In exchange, prosecutors are dropping a more serious DUI charge. He was also whistled for failure to stay in a single lane.

He’ll serve one year of probes, do 24 hours of community service, and pay 1,000 dollars in fines. He was also just suspended two games by the Nuggets.

Atlanta based rap artist Dolla (The Gang Ent./Konvict Muzik/Jive) "Knocks Out" rapper 2 Pistols at the Shrine Auditorium during the Media Day Event at the BET Awards '08. 2 Pistols was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital. The physical altercation occurred on Monday, June 23, 2008 after Dolla heard 2 Pistols making a public statement to the media that Dolla has no street credibility and isn't really a rap artist from the streets. Dolla had no issues to prove he is from the street. Dolla confronted 2 Pistols at the event about his public statements and knocked out the rap artist with a single jab.

He claims the argument was over his hit single, "She Got It" featuring T-Pain, which Dolla allegedly felt was supposed to go to him first. The Florida rapper claims the argument ended, he walked away, and then was sucker-punched. When he tried to strike back (grabbing a chair in the process), he says cops grabbed him, and Dolla and his entourage fled in the vehicles.......... Now how are these 2 going to fight over a song that was NEITHER one of theirs to begin with?!?!? Sources in the industry tell me the song was originally a T-Pain song that got revamped when they added someone new and WALLAH!!!!! T-Pain alledgedly makes alot of song hooks and whoever the highest bidder is gets the track with the hook., but I ain't one to gossip so yall ain't hear that from me......

What's BEEF?

Other than the dumbest thing in the industry, beef is a new tool for publicity. In the past month, we have witnessed "beef" aka "filet mignon" between TI and Shawty Lo, Ice-T and Soulja Boy, Ne-Yo and Chris Brown, Plies and Rick Ross, and most recently Shaq lashing out at Kobe!!!! Let's take a look deeper into this "so-called" beef.

TI and Shawty Lo shared the same stage at the Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash a couple weekends ago and there was no incident. We know TI is under strict terms due to his gun charges and terms of his release/ probation but, if I had REAL beef with someone, there would've been some ish going down!!!! Even if the flunkies had to get it in!!!! Next up is Ice-T and Soulja Boy..... moving right along because that's how relevant their whole beef is. It's been reported that Plies and Rick Ross are beefing but I just saw Rick Ross perform on 106 & Park last night and he gave a shout-out to Plies!!!!!! Guess that beef is either squashed or it never existed anyway!!!!! Shaq beefing with Kobe while neither one of them won a ring this year?!??!?!?! *DEAD* And Ne-Yo and Chris Brown? WTF?!?!? They will BOTH be at the BET Awards tonight and I bet neither one says anything to the other one. True B*TCHASSNESS at it's finest!!!

V-103 held it's annual Car and Bike Show this weekend and, from what I heard, it was going DOWN!!!! Performances by Ray J, Trey Songz, Big Kuntry, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross, Ace Hood, Rocko, Sean Garrett, Day 26, etc... Damn, look at Rick Ross rock that lavender lookinglike a big old Easter Egg ready for me to eat!!!!! WHEW!!!!!!!!! WIPE ME DOWN!!!!!

Word is the Trey Songz was feelin himself a bit too much and was a bit stand-off-ish (when it came to interacting with the fans).

Also, it's being reported (according to V-103's Miss Sophia who is below pictured with Dorian) that Keyshia Cole acted like she didn't want to be there. She signed autographs but kept her little dog on the table the whole time and never removed her stunna shades!!!!! I guess being nice to your fans can only last so long before you revert back to your old self, huh Keysh?!?!?! And didn't we tell yall a LONG TIME AGO that she got her TEEF fixed?!?!?! I guess everyone else is just now starting to take notice!!!

All and all, it looked like a great time. Why didn't I go, you ask??? Lil Wayne: "A Great Candidate For Bankruptcy"

Via WDKX: A California business man, seeking compensation for work done to Lil Wayne's 1999 Bentley Arnage, officially filed a new lawsuit against Lil Wayne last Tuesday- the same day Tha Carter III was released.

Le Marck de Andre and his Silicon Valley law firm are seeking $123,800 plus an additional $200 per day from Lil Wayne, Cash Money Records and Young Money Entertainment for failure to settle the debt.

"My direct observation and experience with Dwayne M. Carter's financial and personal irresponsibility over the years has taught and demonstrated to me that he has become the new symbol of financial illiteracy and slavery in the 21st century," an incensed de Andre told AllHipHop.com in a statement.The remarks are de Andre's first public statement about his ongoing battle with Lil Wayne.

According to de Andre, he was contracted by Lil' Wayne around October 2005 to customize said Bentley. However, since Wayne failed to provide the initial $78,507 for ten months, de Andre decided to terminate the contract and take legal action. An attorney for de Andre, Dan R. Price, filed an initial breach of contract suit in December 2007, alleging that an outstanding balance of $91, 000 remained to be paid for the Bentley, which was being refurbished and repaired.Lil Wane was served with the legal documents in January.

"For a little over 5 years, I have been involved with the consistent and perpetual business behavioral illustrations of Dwayne M. Carter's high-level of financial illiteracy, lack of liquidity, leveraged acquisition liability accumulation and below zero net-worth; as well as lack of business communication, character, and integrity - all learned behaviors - and the primary reasons for non-payment," de Andre fumed. "My prognostication is unless and until [he] transforms his personal, business, and financial attitude and adopts new behaviors, these unfortunate behavioral components will equate to future lawsuits, defaults, repossessions, foreclosures, and the making of a great candidate for bankruptcy."

Celebrity Stylist Murdered

Via Panache Report: Sadia Morrison (above), 26, was a stylist to the stars. She was found dead after being thrown from the roof of an apartment building in New York on June 13, 2008.


Morrison’s high profile client base included rappers Kanye West, Plies, 50 Cent, and Young Jeezy; singer Fantasia, boxer Zab Judah, NFL players Clinton Portis and Thomas Jones, and many more.


Reports say friends became worried about Morrison when they hadn’t heard from her on Friday.


Sadia Morrison was previously arrested after a fight that broke out in the Minxx (Pacman Jones related brawl) in February 2007. The shooting just outside of the club left a bouncer, Tommy Urbanski, paralyzed from the waist down.


Morrison pleaded no contest to the battery charge for her part in the fight. She was sentenced to three years probation.


Morrison’s brother, Paul, did not think her death was connected to the shooting at the Minxx.


Her brother spoke to the medical examiner to identify the body. He stated that she had two head injuries, one from hitting a satellite dish and another probably caused by her attacker.


Paul Morrison said his sister was fierce and blunt, and didn’t take "no" for an answer. He went on to say, "If Sadia’s with you, she’s with you," Morrison said. "If something happens, she’s with you. Sometimes it leads to her downfall, but that’s the way it is."

TI Covers XXL & Philant's Killers Arrested

TI is covering the August edition of XXL Magazine!!!!! I'm sooo anxious for the release of his new cd "Paper Trail". I think, now that Lil Wayne has released Tha Carter III, "Paper Trail" is now the next most anticipated hip-hop cd.

In related TI news, the two men pictured above, 34 year old Hosea Thomas and his brother 40 year old Pardon Thomas, were both arrested in Cincinnati and charged with mourder and felonious assult in connection with the 2006 shooting and murder of TI's best friend and assistant Philant Johnson. Both men have their own prior convictions including possession, robbery, and rape. They are both being held without bond.

Young Jeezy Arrested; Working on "The Recession"

Young Jeezy was arrested in Atlanta early Wednesday morning at Buford Highway and I-85 for DUI, reckless driving, speeding, driving without tags, having an open container and no proof of insurance in his brand new Corvette. Jeezy aka Jay Jenkins was released and has to appear in an Atlanta courtroom on July 17th. According to Sandra Rose, Jezzy's people are claiming that "no tags" charge was because his tags fell off after he left the carwash and the open container belonged to a passenger in the car with him- it wasn't his............ Jeezy was leaving the studio after working on his new album, which will be titled "The Recession" (source)

1. In 1998, Kelly picked up a 16-year-old girl at the "Rock ‘n’ Roll McDonalds" in Chicago, just north of the Loop. They had an affair that lasted until she told him she was pregnant, one of Kelly’s associates drove her to the abortion clinic.


2. Kelly grew up on the South Side of Chicago. The profile of Kelly in GQ magazine says that "family members and early associates" said that Kelly had been abused by an older neighborhood man as a child.


3, They also said he had tried to commit suicide as a youth, but covered up the story of the resulting bullet wound by saying some kids who had been trying to steal his bike shot him.


4. Associates of Kelly have said as well that he can barely read or do basic math; he later confessed in a Vibe magazine story to being illiterate.


5. Kelly is estranged from his siblings and didn’t take care of his mother, who drove a beat-up car and could not pay her medical bills. After she died of cancer in 1997, Kelly declared that he had "found the lord"!


6. Kelly’s personal hygiene left a lot to be desired; he could wear the same clothes for a week. Said one of his former assistants: "I could never understand the women. I’d be like, ‘How could you be with him when he stink like that?’"


7. There are actually three R. Kelly sex tapes! There’s the one with the girl that is at the center of the case; another of an adult woman, who is suing Kelly for filming her without her knowledge; and a third of another young girl, who as yet has not been identified

Specifically, I am being told that he called him the B-word aka a female dog! On top of that, Ross apparently stated that he’s already "done smacked the s**t outta him" a couple years ago and Plies should thank Trick Daddy and Ross for his career. Where is this coming from? I know Trick Daddy recently lashed out on Plies for what, is still don’t know. Anyway, after he dissed Plies. Ross spit a freestyle over the "I'm so hood" beat. Once again, it’s on!

1996: Kelly marries Andrea Lee, a choreographer and dancer from his stage show whose nickname within his inner circle is "Puppydog." The couple will have three children, though they are very rarely photographed together in public, and Kelly associates tell the Sun-Times that Andrea is expected to knock before entering any room in their house when her husband is at home. In 2003, Andrea’s mother, grandfather and aunt tell the Sun-Times that they are upset because they are not allowed to visit her at Kelly’s Olympia Fields home, or even to speak to her on the phone.


Dec. 24, 1996: Kelly is sued for $10 million by Tiffany Hawkins, who claims she met the star when he came back to Kenwood Academy to talk to his old mentor Lena McLin’s music class. According to the lawsuit, Hawkins began having sex with Kelly in 1991, when she was 15, and the relationship ended in 1994, when she turned 18. (He would have been aged 24 to 27.) Hawkins’ charges are not reported until years later as part of an investigative story by the Sun-Times.


January 23, 1998: Kelly settles the lawsuit with Hawkins just four days after she gave a seven-hour deposition. Terms of the settlement prohibit Hawkins from talking about the amount, though sources tell the Sun-Times it was $250,000, and she is prohibited from speaking to anyone about her relationship with Kelly. Joavante Cunningham, who worked as one of Kelly’s dancers, later tells the Sun-Times that everything started going downhill for Kelly when he settled with Hawkins: "The brother’s got problems. He definitely has something going on psychologically. He should have learned from the Hawkins case and got some help." Another woman, a friend of Hawkins’ who was prepared to testify in the case to being involved in a threesome with Kelly and the plaintiff, tells the paper: "I’m not trying to down him, because I honestly think it has to be a sickness. Looking at pictures of me and Tiffany when we were freshmen — boy, we were ugly little girls compared to what he could have had, so I didn’t understand why he did what he did."


1999: Speaking to the Sun-Times several years later, a Los Angeles woman says she met Kelly in 1999 during the video shoot for "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time." She was 17 years old at the time, though she did not have sex with the star until she turned 18 in 2000. Kelly never told her that he was married, and they began fighting as soon as she found out: "I do believe he does have a problem," she tells the newspaper. A former Kelly assistant tells the Sun-Times that during this same period, the backstage area at the star’s concerts are often filled with underage girls. "He likes the babies, and that’s the sickness. He can control her and she doesn't know no any better."


Early 2000: More than five years after the affair with his niece, Aaliyah, Hankerson resigns as Kelly’s manager. He writes a letter to the star’s attorney that says he believes Kelly needs psychiatric help for his compulsion to pursue underage girls. Hankerson has never spoken publicly about Kelly, but an attorney for Hankerson confirmed the substance of the letter in an interview with the Sun-Times.


Dec. 21, 2000: The Chicago Sun-Times publishes its first investigative report about what it calls a pattern of R. Kelly abusing his wealth and fame as a pop star to enter into sexual relationships with underage girls. The result of seven weeks of reporting, the story is prompted by an anonymous fax to the paper that reads: "You wrote about R. Kelly [in a review of "TP2.com"] and compared him to Marvin Gaye. Well, I guess Marvin Gaye had problems too, but I don’t think they were like Robert’s… Robert’s problem is young girls… I’ve known Robert for many years and I’ve tried to get him to get help, but he just won’t do it. So I’m telling you about it hoping that you or someone at your newspaper will write an article about it and then Robert will have no choice but to get help and stop hurting the people he’s hurting."


August, 2001: Kelly is sued by another Chicago woman, Tracy Sampson, a former intern at Epic Records who claims she lost her virginity to the singer at age 17. "I was lied to by him," she claims in the lawsuit. "I was coerced into receiving oral sex from a girl I did not want to have sex with. I was often treated as his personal sex object and cast aside. He would tell me to come to his studio and have sex with him, then tell me to go. He often tried to control every aspect of my life including who I would see and where I would go." The case eventually is settled out of court when Kelly pays Sampson an undisclosed sum.


April 29, 2002: Kelly is sued for the third time by Patrice Jones, a Chicago woman who claims he impregnated her when she was underage, and that one of his associates took her to have an abortion. The lawsuit claims the relationship began after Kelly met the girl in December 1998 at the Rock ’n’ Roll McDonald’s in Chicago while she was with her date and another couple on her prom night. The case eventually is settled out of court for an undisclosed sum. The attorney in the case, Susan E. Loggans, is the same lawyer who represented Hawkins and Sampson. She tells the Sun-Times that Kelly also settled with one other girl from Minneapolis before her lawsuit was ever filed.


May 24, 2002: Kelly is sued by yet another woman, Montina Woods, an adult dancer who toured with Kelly’s friend, Ronald Isley. Woods claims she was unknowingly videotaped by Kelly during sex. In the months to come, Loggans tells the Sun-Times that the singer pays additional sums to an unspecified number of other women who threatened to file similar lawsuits; terms of the settlements prohibit her from talking about the specifics.


Oct. 4, 2006: Henry "Love" Vaughn, a Chicago man who says he has been a "mentor and guide" to Kelly since the singer was a teen, files a lawsuit alleging that Kelly attacked him during a party at the star’s Olympia Fields home, and that Kelly reneged on an agreement to pay him for the idea for the song "Step in the Name of Love." In an interview with the Sun-Times, Vaughn says that on the night of the alleged attack, Kelly’s daughter was dancing at the party: "She was all dressed up with tight jeans and makeup on, a seven year old girl, dancing on top of the pool table. It was ridiculous. She told my lady, ‘I’m having a show next week; when you come, bring $100.’ Nobody would tell this, but I ain’t scared to tell the truth. Shame the devil." Kelly spokesman Allen Mayer says, "Vaughn’s story is outrageous nonsense."

Young Jeezy's Name Mentioned in Allegations During BMF Trial

From Creative Loafing: Testimony offered yesterday in the federal government’s cocaine-conspiracy case against alleged Black Mafia Family member Fleming "Ill" Daniels revealed a stunning allegation: According to a witness, Atlanta hip-hop superstar Jay "Young Jeezy" Jenkins received kilos of cocaine from BMF.

Scott Leemon, the New York-based lawyer who represented Jeezy on weapons charges inMiami in 2006, told CL "obviously, I am not going to comment on anything. I will look into it."

The allegation was raised in U.S. District Court in Atlanta this week by a BMF member named Ralph "Ralphie" Simms. Simms was indicted last year in a related federal drug case in L.A. He told the jury that in exchange for his truthful testimony in the case against Daniels, he hoped to receive a reduced sentence.

Simms testified that his job was to unload BMF’s cocaine from limos outfitted with secret compartments. He said he piled as many as 100 "bricks" of cocaine at a time inside the basement of one of BMF’s stash houses, an ultra-modern Buckhead mansion nicknamed "Space Mountain." And he said that on one occasion, in the fall of 2004, he was ordered by high-ranking BMF members Chad "J-Bo" Brown and Martez "Tito" Byrth to set aside multi-kilo cocaine "shipments" for two customers. Simms said the customers picked up the coke from him at Space Mountain.

When asked by assistant U.S. Attorney Robert McBurney who the customers were, Simms gave two names: William "Doc" Marshall, a high-level BMF co-conspirator who testified earlier in the trial, and "Jeezy."

"Young Jeezy the rapper?" McBurney asked.

"Yes," Simms answered.

Jeezy’s name cropped up several times in the first two days of testimony, but only in relation to his well-publicized friendship with BMF’s Atlanta-based leader, Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory. In November, Flenory pleaded guilty in Detroit to running a continuing criminal enterprise. He faces a minimum sentence of 20 years.

BMF is believed to have employed 500 people across the country in its $270 million cocaine ring — nearly 150 of whom have been indicted in seven states. According to testimony in Daniels’ trial this week, BMF only dealt in multiple kilos of cocaine, which were distributed to other cocaine dealers.

Daniels, who was described during testimony as BMF’s third-in-command under Flenory, was indicted along with 15 co-defendants last year in Atlanta. (Daniels also faces a murder charge in Fulton County Superior Court.) He is the only local defendant to go to trial on the federal charges. Nine of his co-defendants, including the rapper Barima "Bleu DaVinci" McKnight, pleaded guilty over the past two weeks. Another four are fugitives.

Jury deliberations in the case against Daniels began today.

TN Fans Angry: Kanye Late for Bonnaroo Due To Surprise Birthday Bash Performance

As we all know, Kanye West was a surprised guest at Hot 107.9's Birthday Bash on Saturday night. What we didn't know it that Kanye was scheduled to perform at a festival called Bonnaroo in Manchester, TN. Kayne was scheduled to hit the Bonnaroo stage at 8:45pm Saturday night but didn't get there until 4:25am!!!!!!!! Read the report below from the Access Atlanta!!! Kanye West's late night performance at Bonnaroo was delayed nearly two hours, angering the festival crowd who responded by chanting "Kanye sucks" and pelting the empty stage with glow sticks.


West had been scheduled to take the main stage at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival at 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning. While the sleepy thousands in the audience waited, a message on the jumbotrons told them West's show would be delayed until 3:15 a.m., and when that didn't happen, that he would start at 3:30. West didn't hit the stage until 4:25 a.m.


The delay was caused by problems setting up West's elaborate stage set, which included an interplanetary landscape of a wavy black platform with a slanted floor in the middle and a video screen above. West performed a spectacular galactic-themed concert complete with interaction with his spaceship, a disembodied female voice named Jane (a kind of sexier HAL).



The festival, which boasted more than 150 acts spread out over four days, was otherwise very punctual. The West delay was all the worse because of its already very late schedule, and many campers lost energy before the concert and returned to their sleeping bags. Midway through his performance, the morning light showed that the crowd had dwindled substantially.


West had originally been slated to perform at 8:15 p.m. Saturday night, but requested a late night performance. At least in the first hour of his performance, West didn't address the crowd regarding the delay.


Later Sunday, the Bonnaroo crowd was still upset. Pedal steel guitarist Robert Randolph criticized West for disappointing his fans. His comments inspired a "Kanye sucks" chant.


A spokesperson for West didn't immediately return a request for comment

Everyone performed at this weekend's event including Young Jeezy, Trina, Rocko, Plies, TI, Shawty Lo, Gucci Mane, The Game and others. Jeezy brought out 2 suprise performers USHER & KANYE WEST!!!!! Mike Vick's Bro Charged With DUI After A Bicycle Cop Saw Him In An Altercation With This Chick.....

Via ABC News: Former Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick has been charged with driving under the influence and eluding police.

Police said a uniformed bicycle patrol officer observed Vick and a female involved in an altercation in the car early Friday. When the officer asked for a driver's license, police say Vick sped away but was stopped minutes later.

Vick failed a field sobriety test and was charged with DUI, misdemeanor eluding police, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license. The passenger, Delicia Cordon of Miami, Fla., was charged with being drunk in public.

Vick was released by the Miami Dolphins in 2007. He is the brother of former Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick.

Delicia Cordon was evicted from a friend's condo in Miami, Florida on February 20, 2008 at 9:30AM by the Miami Dade Sheriff and Police Department for failure to pay rent

Cordon was evicted after living in the unit for three (3) months without paying a single cent in rent! The monthly rent was $1,500 and the 2 bedroom condo belonged to a friend of mine who plays in the NFL.

Delicia Cordon got out of a really bad relationship with another player so my friend said she could rent out his place till she gets back on her feet. She gave a series of of bad checks that the bank could 'not locate the accounts'. Delicia also provided a number of checks with insufficient funds that could not be collected. Cordon also offered money transfers that never took place and faked Fedex mailings that never arrived. Cordon provided excuse after excuse and 'will pay you tomorrow' and 'feed the poor trip' stories to justify all the 'trouble' with her bad checks and her 'bad' situation while living the big life. She said that she was doing some new shoots and will have to money very soon.

In addition the credit report for Delicia Cordon came back with a social security alert. She has been EVICTED before and has a terrible credit history

From Drew Reports: The BET Awards are adding to it’s list of high-profile music artists. Today the network announced that Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Jennifer Hudson and Terrence Howard will be appearing on the show. Previously announced arists that will be on the show include Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nelly and Usher.

Jill Scott will perform a tribute to Al Green who is recieving BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Quincy Jones will recieve the network’s Humanitarian Award. D.L. Hughley will host the show live from the Shrine Auditorium.

Big Handbags for Little Girls?

Here is a photo from Vanessa, Kobe, & the family leaving the game the other night (the one night the Lakers actually DID win)!!! Anyway, Vanessa has always been one of the prettiest wives in the NBA. She really doesn't know how to dress and I heard she has a nasty attitude but aside from all of that, she is a pretty girl.

The only thing about these photos that caught my attention is the fact that the little one is carrying a purse/ handbag almost as big as she is!!!!!! Come on now, Is this REALLY necessary? The oldest daughter has a nice handbag too and, as you can see, her and mommy decide to swap purses sometime during this little photo op. I'm all for little girls having cute little purses but if my daughter is rocking her Sunday's best, she is going to also rock a matching little silk, ruffle purse made for a little girl!!!!!! Scott Storch is Wanted; Lashonda is BACK!!!!!

Via The E-Biz: Hip-hop producer Scott Storch is wanted by Miami police for missing a child support court date, according to reports on Wednesday. A Miami-Dade County judge has issued an arrest warrant for Storch on Wednesday after he failed to show for a recent child support court hearing.

Storch is currently being sued by his ex-girlfriend Dalene Daniel for late child support payments for their son Jalen, 2. Storch and Daniel were due to appear at a court in Miami-Dade earlier this month, but Storch did not show up. Storch was also issued with a paternity suit as Vanessa Bellido claims Storch is the "natural father" of her 16-year-old son Steven Brandon Bellido. She alleges Storch accepted he was his son and sent money voluntarily to help them cope.

Amerie Moves To Def Jam

From Drewreports.com: Singer AMERIE is set to undergo a career overhaul - after signing a deal with the record label which turned RIHANNA into an international superstar. The 1 Thing hitmaker has parted ways with Columbia Records and inked a deal with Def Jam, the company that secured the massive track Umbrella for Rihanna last year, catapulting her to global fame. And Amerie, who has previously released two albums to moderate success, is hoping the new contract with Def Jam will help boost her career to even greater heights.

A source tells Britain’s Daily Star newspaper, "Amerie’s first two albums did well, but she’s ready to step it up a gear now. "She was offered a deal too good to turn down and the promise to build upon her reputation for classy and sexy R+B."

Subliminal Lyrics: "Best Thing"

So, I haven't gotten Usher's CD, simply because the majority of the reviews I read weren't too positive. Anyway, I do happen to be a fan of his song "Best Thing", featuring Jay-Z. I actually took the time out to listen to the lyrics of the song and was a bit surprised that Usher would even make such a mean-spirited reference to Chilli in this song. Don't believe me. Read the lyrics yourself and then listen to the song.

Usher is pretty much naming a few of his ex-chicks (including models Eishia Brightwell and Naomi Campbell) and saying that their outcome was the same as Chilli- pretty much they got dismissed, he "let em all go"!!!!!

Big Kev and Wendy Williams Accused of Murder Plot

From NY Daily News (and seen on C&D): Shock jock Wendy Williams husband "allegedly" plotted to kill a Hot 97 rival DJ for badmouthing his wife on the air, an explosive federal lawsuit filed charges Wednesday.

Kevin Hunter, who is married to Williams, sought out a male WBLS employee for help in finding a hitman to rub out Hot 97 personality Tarsha Jones (aka Miss Jones), the lawsuit claims. Hunter "was apparently angry over some comments that Miss Jones made about his wife on the air," the lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court claims.

Williams, 43, then turned to the same employee her husband tried to enlist in a murder plot to find someone to kill him, the lawsuit alleges.

Wow Wow Wow!!!!! This whole story with Wendy and Big Kev just keeps getting more interesting. This is what Wendy SHOULD'VE made her movie about!!!! Whatever happend to her big movie anyway? This also makes me wonder what will happen with her talk show, that was slated to begin this year?!?!?! I guess she should've been a whole lot nicer to her program talent booker Nicole Spence.

AM I wrong for not LOVING Tha Carter III?!??!? I mean, I LIKE IT but I don't love it. I think the hype around the album is much bigger than the album itself. Don't get me wrong, the album is HOT but it's not FIRE, you feel me?!?!?! My favorite cut so far (that hasn't already received radio play) is "Mrs. Officer" ft Bobby Valentino!!!! I definitely think that Lil Wayne is the hottest rapper in the game right now, but I just also think he is a great FEATURE artist. An hour and a half's worth of metaphors and analagies is just too much for me right now. This is just my first listen. I didn't like Lollipop when I first heard it but now it's my jam!!!! I'm willing to let this thing grow on me......................

P.S. "Misunderstood" is a great track as well. He speaks the truth about alot of things on this track and it is a MUST LISTEN!!!!! He's speaking about overcrowding of jails and how there isn't enough room in jails right now for the sex offenders because they are too crowded with crack-cocaine drug dealers.............................. He even goes in on Al Sharpton and says "Mr Al Sharpton, Here's why I don't respect you and nobody likes you......... You are no MLK. You are no Jesse Jackson. You are nobody to me.. You are just another Don King- WITH A PERM!!!!!!..................F*CK AL SHARPTON AND ANYONE LIKE HIM!!!!!" You have to go get it and listen to the whole thing yourself!!!!!! While "site-seeing" over there, I saw this little family photo (notice I didn't say "cute family photo") of Flav and his T.P.T. fiance!!!! (T.P.T= trailer park trash...... she doesn't look like that to you?!!?!?!?) Anyway, at least the baby is cute.

What I need help with is why do interracial parents ALWAYS have their bi-racial kids hair looking CRAZY?!?!?!?! If you are a white girl and you make the conscious decision to have a baby by a black man, can you please take sometime during your 9 months of pregnancy to learn how to braid or twist or cornrow or something?!?!? Or atleast find a teen or african in your hood that braids for $25!!!!! This right here is unacceptable.

Beyonce on ET and BET Awards

According to BeyonceWorld.net, Entertainment Tonight will exclusively be on set of the new Beyonce thriller "Obsessed". She will also supposedly be speaking candidly about her new life as a wife and marriage to Jay-Z. The episode will air Wednesday. Also, Lil Wayne broke the secret recently in an interview at the BET Awards press conference that he and Beyonce will be performing with Usher for the opening of the show. That may be news to some but, for those of us who read Necole Bitchie everyday, the blog homie already scooped that exclusive tidbit secret on her blog a few weeks ago!!!! Lil Wayne is also supposedly slated to close the show!!!! Word to Weezy: PLEASE don't pull a TI and get arrested the night of the show!!!! I think this performance is one that the world is looking forward to!!!!

Da Brat Being Sued

Yall remember when Da Brat "allegedly' hit that chick with a bottle last year at Studi0 72?!?!!? Well, here is what Panache Report posted today about the huge lawsuit she is now facing. Read on:

Prominent trial attorney, Willie Gary and his partner, CK Hoffler of the Florida-based law firm of Gary, Williams, Finney, Lewis, Watson and Sperando P.L., announced today that the firm will be representing Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader, Shayla Stevens, against rap artist, Da Brat and Studio 72. Stevens was physically assaulted by Da Brat (according to an eyewitness account, Stevens was slammed face down onto a table and then punched in the face) while working as a part-time waitress at a night club in Tucker, Georgia.

Stevens, who is a cheerleader for the Atlanta Falcons, a dance choreographer, an actress and entrepreneur, also graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. The incident occurred at Studio 72, a night club in Tucker, Georgia, heavily promoted by hip-hop producer and businessman, Jermaine Dupri. Stevens, who never met Da Brat prior to the incident, was also hit in the head with a 1.7 liter sized bottle by Da Brat, and suffered permanent injuries to her face as well as possible neurological damage. As a result of her injuries, she will miss upcoming Falcons games and promotional events, as well as a scheduled role on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne sitcom and other commercial, professional choreography and acting opportunities.

Following the incident, the club owners were reluctant to contact the police due to possible negative publicity for the night club. A club manager, who witnessed the assault, failed to seek proper medical intervention for Stevens and she was taken to the hospital by a family member. Prior to the assault, club owners and security had the opportunity to remove Da Brat from the club due to an earlier pushing incident with Ms. Stevens, but failed to do so. Da Brat was arrested and released on $50,000 bond as a result of the incident.

From AJC.com: Ed McMahon, who for decades appeared as Johnny Carson's sidekick on "The Tonight Show," is fighting to avoid foreclosure on his multimillion-dollar Beverly Hills home, according to published reports. He was $644,000 behind on payments on $4.8 million in mortgage loans when a unit of Countrywide Financial Corp. filed a default notice Feb. 28 with the Los Angeles County Recorder's Office, The Wall Street Journal first reported late Tuesday.

McMahon, 85, has been unable to work as a pitchman for various products since he broke his neck 18 months ago, said his spokesman, Howard Bragman. McMahon has been in "very fruitful discussions" with the lender to resolve the situation, Bragman said. But it's unclear whether McMahon and his wife, Pamela, will remain in the home.

The six-bedroom, five-bath house is in a hilltop gated community overlooking Mulholland Drive called The Summit and is listed for sale at $6.25 million. It has been on the market two years, according to real estate agent Alex Davis, who has the listing. (SOURCE)

The superstar was sentenced to 24 hours community service for a wreckless driving charge he received on February 19 when he was clocked doing 105mph on 75-South!!!! (...she got me speeding in the fast lane, pedal to the floor man, trying to get back to her love!!!). Ne-Yo, real name Shaffer Smith, will also pay a $1000 fine and attend a defensive driving class. He is also sentenced to 6 months of non-reporting probation.
