Don't expect to see Gucci Mane anytime soon. The rapper, whose real name is Roderick Davis, has been sentenced to a year in the Fulton County Atlanta jail for probation violation. He was currently on probation from a 2005 assault conviction for hitting an Atlanta promoter in the head with a pool cue.
In December of 2005, Dekalb County dropped murder charges against Gucci Mane for the self-defense murder of Macon rapper Henry Lee Clark III. He pleaded no contest to aggravated assault and assault with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to 6 month in jail, 6 1/2 years of probation, and 50 hours of community service.
Gucci Mane violated probation by not completing any of his required community service and also by smoking marijuana.
